    The Blue Angels first performed in the F9F Panther for their approval show at NAS Pensacola on 5th August 1949. They made their first public appearance in the F9F Panther at Beaumont Texas on 20 August 1949. After more than 130 performances the Blues Angels flew their last F9F Panther show on 11 December 1954 over the commissioning ceremonies for aircraft carrier USS Forrestal CVA-59, the Navy's first aircraft carrier designed for jet operations.
