    Description

This is a Fine Vintage Original Company-Issued Litho Poster of
North American Aviation's U. S. Air Force F-100 Super Sabre
.  This Supersonic  Fighter Bomber was the first in the Air Force inventory capable of supersonic speed in level flight, and was first in the "Century Series" of USAF Fighters.  The F-100 Super Sabre served the USAF fleet from 1955 to its retirement in 1970.  Its service was continued in the Air National Guard until 1979.  It was built as a higher performance follow-up to the successful F-86 Sabre.  The F-100 (referred to as "The Hun"...short for "100") was flown extensively over South Vietnam.  It underwent many modifications over its length of service due to a myriad of design issues.  Over its time in service, a total of 889 were destroyed in accidents that resulted in the death of 324 Pilots.  The F-100 was eventually replaced by the Mach two-class F-105 Thunderchief.
Condition of this lithographed Poster Print is excellent.  It measures 15" x 12 1/4" and its wide white border makes it an excellent candidate for framing.
